Defense Contracts – April 29, 2013

The DEFENSE CONTRACTS today were awarded to the following companies:

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Fisher Scientific Co., LLC, Pittsburgh, Pa., has been awarded a maximum $233,598,349 modification (P00009) exercising the fourth option year of a base contract (SPM2DE-09-D-7340) with four one-year option periods for selection of distributor to make available laboratory supplies and wares using the Laboratory Electronic Catalog program.  The modification is a fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment contract.  Location of performance is Pennsylvania with a May 3, 2014 performance completion date.  Using military services are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agencies.  Type of appropriation is fiscal 2012 Defense Working Capital funds.  The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa.

US Foods, Inc., Oklahoma Division, Oklahoma City, Okla., has been awarded a maximum $28,442,792 modification (P00201) exercising the second option year of a two year base contract (SPM300-09-D-3272) with two eighteen-month option periods and one twelve-month option period for full line food distributor for the Texas and Oklahoma area.  The modification is a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-quantity contract.  Location of performance is Oklahoma with a May 11, 2014 performance completion date.  Using military services are Army and Air Force.  Type of appropriation is fiscal 2013 through fiscal 2014 Defense Working Capital funds.  The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa.

United Technologies Corp., doing business as Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, Conn., has been awarded a maximum $8,836,542 firm-fixed-price contract for replenishment spares.  Location of performance is Connecticut with a Nov. 30, 2016, performance completion date.  Using military service is Air Force.  Type of appropriation is fiscal 2013 Defense Working Capital funds.  The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, Oklahoma City, Okla., (N00383-12-G-001M-UN38).

NAVY

The Boeing Co., Seattle, Wash., is being awarded a $21,459,925 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-09-C-0022) for the upgrade of the Training System Support Center in support of the Low Rate Initial Production Lot III, P-8A Multi-Mission Maritime aircraft.  This modification also includes the procurement for the tooling and data for the Weapons Tactics Trainer.  Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo., and is expected to be completed in August 2016.  Fiscal 2011 Aircraft Procurement Navy and Fiscal 2013 Research, Development, Test & Evaluation, Navy contract funds in the amount of $21,459,925 are being obligated on this award, of which $21,055,883 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Air System Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Oshkosh Defense, Oshkosh, Wis., is being awarded $7,951,288 for fixed-price delivery order #0032 under a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (M67854-12-D-0209) to purchase 32 fiscal 2014 Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement variants, camouflage paint, and vehicle federal retail excise tax.  Work will be performed in Oshkosh, Wis., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2014.  Fiscal 2013 Procurement Marine Corps, Overseas Contingency Operation contract funds in the amount of $7,951,288 will be obligated at the time of award, and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Marine Corps System Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.

AIR FORCE

AMENDED:  The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity with provision to issue firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee task orders, multiple-award contract announced on Apr. 12, 2013 for advisory and assistance services in support of the Air Force civil engineer mission is amended to add the following company as an awardee:  Environmental Synectics, Inc., Sacramento, Calif., (FA8903-13-D-0007).  An amount of $3,000 will be obligated on task order 0001

At age 6, Susan was destined to be a journalist and photographer.  In 1980, Susan founded Bainbridge News and The Bainbridge Chronicle Newspaper. Bainbridge News specializes in Military and National Politics, including Military Funerals and Burials and Political Funerals and Burials.  Susan has covered the White House, the Pentagon and Capitol Hill. She has covered every president from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama. In addition to military and political events, including Military and Political funerals and burials, Bainbridge Photography expanded into covering ALL funerals and burials, receptions, weddings, real estate, inventory, insurance, portrait, head shot, pets, fire and Hazmat.  Miss Bainbridge believes in going the extra mile. "My Clients always come first." In 1980, Susan began her career in Washington, D.C., working for WMZQ Radio as a reporter and guest hostess from 1980 to 1985. Intrigued by radio, Susan wanted to write, freelancing for radio, television and print newspapers, including AP, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The Northern Virginia Sun, The Press-Republican and The Bainbridge Chronicle (established by Susan Bainbridge). In 1986, Susan worked at WDCA-TV Channel 20 as a guest hostess for "Eye On Washington." From 1990 to 1994, Susan reported and anchored for "The Arlington Weekly News." Additionally, she produced a segment for the G. Gordon Liddy Radio Show. A prolific writer, while in high school in 1977, Bainbridge wrote an episode for NBC's "Little House on The Prairie" entitled "Laura's Best Friend." Though the show's producers did not use the script then, NBC producers encouraged Susan to pursue a writing and journalism career. Susan is a member of the National Press Club, the National Press Photographer's Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. Susan Bainbridge's recognitions include from former Presidents Ronald Reagan, George Herbert Walker Bush and Bill Clinton, former First Lady Nancy Reagan, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the late actor Lorne Greene, among many others. BAINBRIDGE NEWS was founded in 1980 by Susan Bainbridge (a sixth generation writer), a third generation journalist, a first generation photographer and a fourth generation entrepreneur. She is the first generation to establish a news business. Bainbridge News is dedicated in honor of Miss Bainbridge's late grandfather and idol, Mark S. Watson (The Baltimore Sun editor and war correspondent from 1920 to his death in 1966).
